The Heart of Richmond offers a variety of support services, which include, but are not limited to:

Support Group - provides professional and peer support as well as useful information to people living with HIV/AIDS and those affected by the disease. Support Group activities also include presentations by guest speakers, movie nights, monthly dinners and other social activities. [ More Details ]

One-to-One Support - Support involves a professional who gives people living with HIV emotional support, HIV information and assistance acquiring affordable housing and employment.

Grocery Vouchers - provides people living with HIV whose income falls below a certain level and have been active members of our Society for three months with some assistance with groceries.

Supplemental Health Fund - for qualified members living with HIV, this program provides some assistance with health expenses that are not covered by a medical plan.

The Heart of Richmond also offers a variety of educational services, which include:

HIV Education Workshops – provide information about HIV and other sexually transmitted infections (STIs) to community organizations, schools and businesses. Workshops are presented in a format to meet the individual needs of each group (i.e. age level, type of organization or business)

Displays - display boards and brochures are set up throughout the community (i.e. Kwantlen College, community centres, AIDS Walk).

Condom Packages - created to educate people about HIV and also to provide them with condoms if they are having sex. We have created packages geared to youth that include a safer sex message, a condom, lubricant and candies. These packages are designed with a theme and are distributed in conjunction with occasions such as Valentine's Day and High School Graduation. We have also created a package geared to women who work in the sex trade.
