Hey, it's not a "gay thing." HIV infections among all teenagers and young adults are increasing. Guys and girls.
If you are gay, lesbian, bisexual or transgendered or if you are questioning your sexuality, support
is available. Visit or call The Centre for more information. If you are in crisis, please call 1-866-NOT-ALONE.
What's "HOMOPHOBIA"? Homophobia is an intense, irrational fear of same-sex relationships.

Alcohol and drugs affect your self-control. They lower your inhibitions and impair
your judgment. Drinking and drug use can lead to risky behaviors you're less likely to do if sober, including having
unprotected sex. This increases your risk for exposure to HIV/AIDS and other sexually transmitted infections
(STIs).
How You Get HIV
A lot (high concentrations) of HIV can be found in the blood (including menstrual blood), semen, pre-cum,
vaginal fluids, and in the breast milk of people infected with the virus.
The most common ways HIV is spread are:
- Unprotected vaginal and anal intercourse
- Sharing needles for steroid or injection drug use
- During pregnancy or at birth an infected mother can transmit HIV to her child. A mother can also transmit HIV to her child through breast milk
